New philosophy journal

American Philosophical Association partners with Cambridge University Press

1:54 p.m., June 13, 2013--The American Philosophical Association (APA), which is based at the University of Delaware, has partnered with Cambridge University Press to launch the Journal of the American Philosophical Association (J-APA), an international and pluralistic journal scheduled for release in 2015.

“J-APA, through our partnership with Cambridge, will support the APA's important new initiatives that will benefit philosophers and philosophy students alike,” says Amy Ferrer, APA executive director. “We expect that the success of this new flagship publication will bring prominence to the APA and the University of Delaware.”

The journal, to be released quarterly in both print and online formats, will include various discussion topics in the diverse subfields of philosophy as well as contribute to the discipline’s continued growth and global impact.

“Our new journal will publish articles of the highest quality and from across the philosophical spectrum,” says Michael Bratman, APA board of officers chair. “I anticipate that it will make a major contribution to important philosophical research and scholarship over these coming years.”

I hope this will not be another pay-per-view academic journal.
