General Theological Seminary board offers terminated faculty employment negotiations

Sarah Pulliam Bailey

(RNS) General Theological Seminary will keep its controversial dean and invited terminated faculty to negotiate future employment possibilities during a board meeting on Friday (Oct. 17).

In September, eight professors quit teaching classes and attending official seminary meetings or chapel services until they could sit down with the board of GTS.

The board of GTS accepted faculty resignations when the faculty said they did not offer to resign.

I know several students, professors and alumni of the school and this whole thing is heartbreaking.
