(4,473 posts)I used to know a bishop, the late Roger Kaffer, auxiliary of Joliet, Illinois, who could play piano really well, especially ragtime, stride and boogie-woogie. I like to play the same styles, but I'm nowhere near as good as he was.

(11,573 posts)of when I was on my then-church's search committee.One Sunday we visited an extremely unpretentious little church in San Antonio. We liked the way the priest drew the congregation into community during Mass, and delighted when, instead of singing, he whistled along with the hymns as melodiously as a mockingbird.
Turned out he was perfectly happy where he was. It was the Bishop's idea to try to "move him up" to a larger parish.

(135,425 posts)have the priests tap dance along to the music...but hey, anything's possible! I think anyone going to a service would enjoy that kind of thing!
