Whoopie Goldberg told this story on "The View" a couple of years ago and it just made me go ferclempt.
Seems there was a young gentlemen with Down's Syndrom who attended church regularly with his family. Christmas was coming up and with it their annual Christmas Play wherein the children re-enact Joseph and Mary searching for a place to rest. Everyone was cast, including this young man who was to play the part of the innkeeper. He had one line: "There's no room at the inn." They rehearsed him and rehearsed him until everyone felt he was ready to play his big role. It got to the part in the play in which he is to speak his line and, sure enough, he says, on cue, "There's no room at the inn" and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. At that point, "Mary" and "Joseph" began walking away across the stage when the same young man says, "But you can stay at my house!" At which point the reverend said, "Amen."
<sniff> (Gets me every time.)
