Boxcar kitties find a home

Two kittens, probably feral, managed to get themselves locked in a train boxcar in Chicago and weren't discovered until they got to Edmonton, Alberta, 5 days later. They survived all that time without food or water and were scared, dirty and hungry when finally rescued by the local Humane Society.

They were given the names Chicago Joe and Boxcar Willemina and went to foster care to be socialized. .

On Tuesday, a young couple adopted both kittens. "Just seeing the story on the news and working for CN seemed like a good match for me," Adrian Michalczyk, who adopted the kittens with his fiancée, told CBC News.
