I may be getting more taste buds back

Surviving neck & head cancer where they bar-b q- your throat so you have mega mucus ,no saliva and burnt out taste
buds finally ends when you get to eat instead of doing the feeding tube etc.......

long cancer survival story

Surviving cancer is good news and hopefully in a few months I will eat again and BOY am I going to eat including all the things we reject for what ever reasons

cancer sure makes you think and smell the roses in life that you passed up plus the survival rate gets better every month-----that's good news .

How's it happening? Husband had much of tongue removed, and radiation, 15? years ago, and lack of saliva REAL problem for him, very low energy as only 'eating' canned stuff. I've been thinking he should go to feeding tube.

or start gaining. Due to difficulty swallowing, takes him forever to consume 1 can of the stuff.

Have read about Roger Ebert's experience w feeding tube, and he doesn't suggest its 'repulsive.'

How/why are you regaining taste buds? Any hints on improving salivation? He's using those pro-salivation pills, but don't know whether they'll work well enough to do much good.

I hope you truly do regain your taste buds. And I'm delighted you're beating the cancer.
