A New Leaf with Elaine May and Walter Matthau

Elaine May is still alive at age 92.

A New Leaf, from 1971, with Elaine May as Henrietta Lowell and Walter Matthau as Henry Graham. A wonderful movie. Henrietta finds a new species of fern that she names Alsophila grahami, dedicated to Henry.

A New Leaf was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant

Jack Ritchie wrote "The Green Heart", and it was adapted by director/star Elaine May into the cult movie classic A New Leaf co-starring Walter Matthau.
