Just once, I'd love to see a film protagonist listen to classical music and or opera with knowledge and enjoyment. But in films where someone is listening to classical music, they are almost always rubbing their hands in glee at some evil deed they have just committed, or are about to commit, and the music offers a dramatic counterpoint to the scene.

I know the ostensible reason was to get Willard's PBY into the Nung River past the hot village, but that consideration was secondary in Kilgore's mind.

(33,539 posts)In the 2006 Marie Antoinette though - it was so joyful and fun to watch her trying not to laugh at the absurdity of the French Court.
And Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A Major was used beautifully in Out of Africa.
