My local Paramount channel is
showing a Jane-Fonda retrospective. I don't reside in the US, so those who have Paramount channel in the US likely have something quite different
Yesterday was "Hurry Sundown." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurry_Sundown_(film) This one literally makes one cringe to see how the overt racism depicted in that film has been simmering in the US all along, while so many of us were blissfully ignorant.
Today was "Barefoot in the Park." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barefoot_in_the_Park_(film)
BITP was followed by "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/They_Shoot_Horses,_Don%27t_They%3F_(film)

Given that Jane has recently been getting arrested for her participation in climate change protests, it is fun to see some of these, if only to remember how lovely she was then ... and has always been.
It is also interesting to see these films now being shown in Europe, while the Trump-led USG is literally fiddling while Rome burns. Perhaps this is a gentle European FU to the Orange One.
If so, bravo!
