Just rewatched "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs"

Any other fans of that movie here? I just love it, maybe because when I was growing up, "cowboy music" was something we listened to as kids. This movie really embodies the essence of old cowboy movies.

All their work is eminently watchable but that one is a gem.

Hope I never meet Liam Nelson in person because I‘ll probably punch him for the awful way he treated that poor orator.

That scene resonated with me for a long time and sent me ruminating for days on the brutality of necessity and people’s ability to rationalize the most horrible things. What does it mean to be charitable? What is the value of art to men who are barely subsisting? Who wants to hear Shakespeare when you can watch a chicken do math?!

Every episode is so unique and yet the whole thing is so cohesive.
