I saw it on FX, now I'm watching what I purchased on Prime.

I LOVE IT. I'm glad I got to see it in theatres. First Tarantino movie I ever saw.

A favorite

But it pales in comparison to the absolute brilliance of "Pulp Fiction". That was an amazing movie on so many different levels.

The reason I am down on "Once Upon a time in Hollywood" is that it tries to turn a gruesome, awful reality into a fairy tale. If it didn't really happen in all the awfulness that the Manson Family brought into 1969 LA, it might have worked.

However, nothing can remove the horrific reality of what happened because of these maniacs in Summer 1969, no matter what the willing suspension of disbelief might require.

My first QT movie was Inglerious Bastards - on cable. Ever since then - hooked on his movies.

I don't watch them for straight lines - I watch for absurdity and entertainment.

Quentin Tarantino is definitely his own biggest fan. There are times when I would agree with him, like for Pulp Fiction. But there are other times when I thing his oversized ego gets in the way. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is one of those times. at 2 hours 51 minutes, it's actually 6 minutes longer than Pulp Fiction. The issue? PF, with it's multiple, connected plotlines MOVED constantly. It's 2 hours and 45 minutes flew by. OUTH had me checking my watch. He could have easily cut 30 minutes from it. I feel the same about Kill Bill (could have been 1 good, tight film) and The Hateful 8. Obviously everyone doesn't agree and I guess if his movies keep making money then he gets to keep making them push 3 hours, but I think it's too their detriment.

As Faulkner said "In writing you must learn to kill all your darlings".

I mean... I don't care about other people's likes but man... Way too much time spent with people putting their dirty feet center screen.
