http://www.slashfilm.com/rosemarys-baby-remake-first-look/Okay -I love love love Zoe Saldana ever since I saw the overlooked and panned The Words. That's a plus - she'll nail the role.
However, the beauty of the original is its simplicity and well - it's adherence to Levin's very creepy and simple novel. I can't wrap my head around the Eiffel tower in the background. I just can't do it.
Anyone up on this? Is it going to be a green screen special effects nightmare?

Rhett - Ryan Reynolds
And there has to be cameos of Double R Superstar (Redford), Joe Pesci, Dustin Hoffman, Idris Elba, and Big D - Dicaprio!

(417 posts)No interest in watching THAT.
Agree with you that Zoe has potential though. She was a cool, updated Uhura in the newest Star Trek franchise, and did a nice job as the voice of Neytiri in Avatar. The Words was an interesting movie and she and Bradley Cooper made it work. Here's a bit of trivia: Did you know that Hemingway's wife actually left one of his manuscripts on a train?

(33,539 posts)I loved how that was woven in. But I really loved the "swirling" - that's how mixed race couples really are. We live - we are just like everyone else.

(21,925 posts)Ruth Gordon was so marvelously annoying in that role. Everyone was perfect for the part.

(33,539 posts)Robert Redford was originally slated to play Ro's husband but I think Downhill Racer pulled him away. There was some conflict of time that pulled him out of that role.
He might have been better since he is a much more subtle actor - he wouldn't have had to say a word the entire movie and could have gone by facial expression alone. Watch Brubaker - at the very end when the guy says "You were right" . . . Redford responds with body and facial expression to convey hope, sadness, failure and love for his men.
