Related: About this forumMickey Rooney was the last surviving actor whose career included a major number of pre-WWII movies.
I posted this same comment this morning in a general discussion thread regarding the news of the death Mickey Rooney.
It is my understading that, other than Luise Rainer, an actress who won two academy awards in the 1930s and who retired shortly thereafter, there is now no surviving actor or actress who had major roles in movies produced before World War II. If I have overlooked a surviving actor or actress from that era, please correct me.

But Olivia's transformation from sweetness to bitterness in that role was jaw-droppingly fantastic.
