Looks like he's not bringing anything to the role other than a scowl.
I'll watch, too. Ridley Scott is an incredible director and scenarist. But I already saw several historical inaccuracies of Mel Gibsonian proportions.

She's stunning, but her hairstyle is all wrong for the period. At least she won't be smoking the whole time like she did in "The Crown".
