hes in?? Just saw him in a Kramer vs Kramer, and I swear there he is Dustin Hoffman playing Dustin Hoffman with just a different name. Am I nuts?? Or do anyone of you think so too???

Oh, Tootsie was a horrible movie. Screw men who think it takes a man to explain women's issue. Dickhead.

(54,396 posts)If the *point* of the movie was to explain women's issue, then sure. They certainly could have had a better female role to perhaps explain things to him. I mean I love Teri garr, the script is the problem not her acting.
But I saw the movie more as silly fun, and an excuse to let Hoffman essentially play two roles, and if it helps men better envision how women get treated, perhaps some good was done along the way.
But generally I agree that allies should support, not replace, the voices of women and minorities.

(1,405 posts)"Ratso" was as far from any of his other characters as anyone could get. A brilliant performance from a brilliant actor.
Both Hoffman and Voight were nominated for Oscars for best actor, but cancelled each other out.
