Wicked Little Letters

Last edited Sun Apr 7, 2024, 09:34 AM - Edit history (1)

My husband and I watched this last night in the theatre. Both of us loved it. I gave it 4 out of 4 stars, he gave it 4 out of 5. Based on a true story back in the 1920s in England. Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley both fantastic. I loved the script. As a playwright myself I'm always analyzing scripts. I won't go into the ending, but both of us were in tears. Me sobbing, him not sobbing but tearing up. The whole audience just sat there for a long time absorbing it.

It was hard at times understanding the talking as they were all talking fast and in deep British/Irish accents, but regardless of that we always got the gist of what was being said. Please let me know what you think after you see it.

If there is something you you think you may have some trouble understanding, ask the theater for the closed caption device.

Autocorrect can be so annoying

I can’t wait to see this.

BTW do a YouTube search for Olivia Colman reading historical letters. She’s marvelous!

I just saw a recent film of hers called "Joy Ride." I'm going to review it on my blog this week.
