I have over the last year taken Victoza for my diabetes. It did wonders for me because one of the

side effects was losing weight - not for everyone. I lost so much weight that the doctor decided I needed to quit taking it. So it can be dangerous.

What I really wish is that they would isolate whatever it is in that drug that makes one lose weight and perfect it. Yes I know they have made it illegal for us to take weight control pills but considering that many of us would benefit from weight lose what is wrong with helping us. I gave up the drug and am gaining weight again. Not enough to push my blood levels up yet but I am struggling. What I and the doctor should have done was stay on the lowest dose that still helped me but we did not realize that until it is too late and the drug companies will not pay for it unless you have levels that will call for insulin next.

Back when diet pills were made illegal it was mostly because they did not work that well anyhow and people were over using them. Is anyone working on this for diabetes patients who have weight problems?
