I have a lot of chronic conditions. Is it possible that my need for stimulation causes some of them

I remember thinking about being cured from the gastritis I've had for years and all of a sudden the thought, "I won't have anything to think of or I won't have anything to blame for just laying around" popped in my head.

I have heard that you get physical illnesses for emotional reasons and if you heal the emotional reasons the physical symptoms will not longer be needed.

I am just now getting read to get treated for ADD. I hope that this might be a symptom.

I have diabetes and am overweight--I'm paying for my need for stimulation in the form of food.

The body and emotions work together more often than not. Emotional pain can and often does manifest itself as physical pain and/or ailments, but one doesn't necessarily cause the other. For instance, loneliness is painful and can kill you.

As for "just lying around", that often is an ADHD symptom. Difficulty setting priorities can look like laziness when it's really a sense of being overwhelmed by indecision.

ADD can manifest physically. You may find that many things cause you to be overstimulated or emotionally exhausted. Not understanding how ADD is affecting you can in turn cause you stress which can then make you physically ill. If you have trouble organizing your life on a day to day basis, that in turn can stress you out, which can make you sick.
