Sabrina Ionescu Swells in Pride Online as NBA's 3-Point King Meets his WNBA Equal

The frame of Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu competing at the 2024 All-Star Game is an image that will be etched in the minds of NBA fans for years to come. In the Warriors star’s own words, “For us to deliver a show like that, it was perfect.” With Bay Area set to host the next All-Star Game, rumors have already been floating about a possible rematch. Before that, however, the duo are currently taking to social media to swell the hearts of both NBA and WNBA fans alike.

Stephen Curry was present during the recent matchup between Ionescu’s New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces. As expected, the WNBA sharp shooter did not choose to disappoint, dropping 14 points to help Liberty win the matchup by a 4-point margin. No one was more happy about the win as the NBA’s three-point leader, as he was captured hugging Ionescu after the matchup and shared some kind words with her.

Along with Stephen Curry, other players like Klay Thompson, Dereck Lively II, and Devin Booker were also present. The NBA fraternity came in to cheer on and send their love to the New York Liberty, who are currently leading the points table with a 29-6 win record. Much of this has been due to Sabrina Ionescu’s contribution, as she has managed to average 19.4 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.6 rebounds during the ongoing series. According to Yahoo! Sports, Ionescu is even in a tight race for consideration for the MVP award. The competition is tough, with A’ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, and even Caitlin Clark reportedly being top contenders at the moment. Having played a significant role in defeating A’ja Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces just a few hours ago, the 3x WNBA All-Star may have accumulated some more votes in her favor.

Having not seen the sharpshooter duo since the iconic All-Star weekend, the moment was certainly momentous enough to garner a whole lot of attention. Before long, social media users had descended onto the comments section to share their reaction.

...she's in MVP contention.
I would guess it's a 2 woman race, between her & Wilson.
Clark is going to get ROY, but not MVP in her rookie year.
But, Sabrina has a chance to take the team with the best record in the east last year, to the best team in WNBA this year. That's a tough task to take a team that won 80% of their games to an even better record. They do have to win 4 of their last 5 to do it though.
