Valkyries unveil plans for locker room, facility

The Golden State Valkyries have shared plans for the team’s locker room at Chase Center and the Valkyries Practice Facility in Oakland expected to be completed and open ahead of the team’s debut 2025 WNBA season.

Both spaces will be designed by Populous. The team’s Chase Center’s V-shaped locker room will measure 6,800 square feet and symbolize the unity of Valkyries in flight formation. It’ll include a training room, hot and cold tubs, player lounge and dining areas, and separate offices for coaches, medical staff and player development. And the 31,800-square-foot training and development space located in downtown Oakland will include two full-sized basketball courts and additional court space, 17 basketball hoops in total. The facility, which served as the Warriors’ HQ from 1997 to 2019, features a locker room, weight room, training room, hot and cold pools and a dedicated player lounge and separate player and family lounge.

The Warriors moved into the Oracle Performance Center in 2019, located in S.F.’s Mission Bay neighborhood and adjacent to Chase Center.
