Breaking: The New York Liberty won its first WNBA championship Sunday night, defeating the Minnesota Lynx in five games.
The Liberty staged a comeback and prevailed in overtime in the winner-take-all Game 5 in Brooklyn to capture its first league title in its sixth trip to the Finals. After falling in last year’s championship series, New York had the best record in the WNBA this year. The Lynx were seeking their fifth WNBA title.

As a lifetime Celtics fan without a homegrown WNBA team to cheer for, I didn't care who won, I just wanted a good game. Boy did I get what I wanted.

It can't get much more down-to-the-wire than overtime in the fifth game. Congratulations to the Liberty, and the Lynx can be proud of how difficult it was for the Liberty to take the title.
Great year for the WNBA.

The league really needs to figure out how to improve the refereeing. The inconsistency is fairly pronounced, especially at the ends of games.

WTH happened with Stewie, Sabrina and Williams?

The referees were horrible especially the foul with 5 seconds to go so New York could tie the game.

Breanna Stewart is 6'5 and her toddler isn't tiny anymore either, so the scale was a bit comical, especially with interviewer Holly Rowe being 5'2".

Stewart's postgame interview with Holly was great television, good for the team, good for the league, good for female athletes, and good for American families.

Her statement that they stole the championship from her team is too close to a certain politician who lost by 7 million votes & still hasn't admitted he lost. (In public)
