What foods are addictive?...SALT, SUGAR, COOKIES, CHOCOLATE, CERTAIN SALTED NUTS, ETC, ETC, .
WHY? ..........YOU LIKE A FOOD AND EAT TOO MUCH OF THAT FOOD & THAT OVEREATING CAUSES DEATH...
WHY DON'T PEOPLE KNOW THE ABOVE?
....................................... ..........1. MANY KNOW, AND DON'T WANT TO STOP.............
.................................................2 MANY HAVE TRIED TO STOP EATING A CERTAIN WAY... AND FAILED.
.................................................3.IT'S VERY HARD TO STOP AN ADDICTION,(LOOK AT A GROUP OF PEOPLE)
...................................................4. PEOPLE THINK THEY ...'KNOW IT ALL"
...................................................5. WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THEY ...'KNOW IT ALL" ....
...................................................6....HERE IS ONE ANSWER WHY PEOPLE THINK.".THAT THEY KNOW IT AL:
..........................................................LET'S SAY SOMEONE IS SIXTY YEARS OLD...........and that
..........................................................person thinks he/she knows it all about..."FOOD"?.
...................................................7...WHY DOES THAT PERSON THINK HE/SHE KNOWS ALL "ABOUT FOOD?.
...........................................................simple answer: ..."THAT PERSON HAS BEEN EATING FOOD, BUYING .................................................. FOOD & LEARNING ABOUT FOOD FOR AT LEAST 56 YEARS...THAT IS WHY.
WHY UNDER EAT?.. That feeling of being skinny or underweight feels good at first. (just like overeating)
and people get addicted to that feeling (that felt good at first, and can't stop under eating )
How did I get the above knowledge?.....I have studied overeating for over 40 years, and have gone to, and lead meetings of
Overeaters Anonymous for over 35 years. When you listen to other people for a very long time, you get knowledge and
expertise from others. (and I have also read a lot of books on the subject.)

(26,825 posts)They eat highly processed foods, consume soft drinks (and whether diet or sugar, are among the worst possible things to consume), rarely eat fresh fruits or vegetables, and almost never actually cook food from scratch.
I've been thinking about this recently, in part because my limited income means I rarely eat out, but cook all of my own food. It's not hard. And doesn't need to take very much time. Especially if you do things like use a crock pot, or make enough of something to freeze portions.

(24,145 posts)With almonds on top that I baked a few days ago. Double whammy! I am WAY too addicted to sugar.
But, I make dinner most nights. I was a skinny thing most of my life until I met Mr. Bayard 10 yrs ago. Hmmm.....there must a a correlation there somewhere!

(38,726 posts)There is likely to be one in your area, & the literature of OA is usually available in local libraries.
Or.......look on the internet for Overeaters Anonymous. It has an excellent web site that gives lots of information....
I would recommend the book "The Twelve Steps and twelve Traditions Overeaters Anonymous" Below is web site for OA
https://oa.org/
And also take the Take the OA Quiz.........................."Is OA Right For YOU"
..when you link to the above web site for Overeaters Anonymous............Overeaters Anonymous Works.......
Some of the people and some of the meetings are life saving. It takes some time to find the right meeting
for each person...Why? ...Because so many of us deal with different aspects of the overeating program..

Of course its a struggle with big business trying to make that extra buck off everyone.
My simple, but hard to follow plan, Eat to live
Dont live to eat.
Limit eating out.
Read labels.
Dont buy junk food at the store.
Keep moving, dont spend the whole day in front of the boob tube.
