Also I'm sure there was some racism involved because POC were associated with MJ use at the time.

(42,727 posts)and to get rid of HEMP , since it was related to Cannabis , it was banned to keep hemp from over taking the production of cotton. Hemp was cheaper to grow and had better quality products but was banned because of its relation to cannabis.

I find it curious that that's what this video says, but then at the end the summary says that it was "fear of the unknown". Yeah, right.
Perhaps I picked up on that because I already knew something about the history of pot.

(7,020 posts)Right. I would bet people were consuming cannabis before they were able to make alcohol. There's a reason we evolved cannabis receptors in our bodies.
