Cana-gro-nome looks very pleased...
Where the 3 gallon grow bag experiment is at, looking like a huge success. Biggest problem resolved is the height of the plants. In 7 gallon bags the roots had an uninhibited area to spread
. Normally a great result but it led to unruly heights. For past grows I needed to mount the lights on the side of the tent to accommodate for the plants height. The grow tent is 84 inches high take off some for the lights hanging down and ventilation, I needed to keep the stature of the plants short. The tallest now is 35 inches
shortest is 24. Still have room for vertical growth but the flowering stretch is mostly finished.
The smaller rootball size and the porosity of the soil mix I believe is the factor for the size. The 3 gallon bag with that mix holds a half gallon of water when 50% dry. 3/4 of a gallon runs out the bottom.
Highly porous soil is easier for the roots to spread. I needed to maximize the efficiency of the bag.
As a reminder:
These are feminized Autoflower plants grown from seed. Autoflower cannabis is on its own determinate schedule. All phases of growth are determined by the plant
vegetative, flowering, ripening. This grow lights were at a 24/0 schedule, mostly for warmth on the colder nights.
