(46,436 posts)Whatever has split out from the white lightning (white widow/NL#5 hybrid) that I've been growing for 10 years, plus or minus. I've cultivated for seeds two or three times so I have lots.
We won't have dispensaries here for another year or so. The legislature is still working out regulations. I'm looking forward to variety.

(16,402 posts)[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]My scrip expired in December and I didn't renew it. Had gotten it for pain and insomnia and it worked well, including some lovely other-realm thoughts as I drifted off.
The disappointment was that I'd be wide awake in 2 hours, absolutely famished - not a side effect I wanted. Experimenting with different strains got expensive, so I stopped.
I can't smoke the stuff, so was either vaping or cooking it into coconut oil, which I'd then use like butter with a bedtime snack.
Now that we have this lovely group for sharing information, maybe I can get some good advice about the best strains for my purposes before I go get another scrip? Cancer and dementia protection are also on my list, and I wouldn't mind trying one of those alert-&-focused types, either.

(23,867 posts)I mostly grew Indica until I was looking for land in Mendocino back in the 80's, and stayed at a motel where I found a tiny plant growing in the flowerpot outside my door. I brought it home, and ended up cloning it. It was a sativa. From then on I loved both the aroma and high from that strain.
One of those two varieties I've had lately make me laugh, which is why I posted them.

Spokane has interesting seasons - nearly always a freeze that takes out newly planted tomatoes on Labor Day.

(14,345 posts)It's all I've been smoking for the past few months for a couple reasons:
1. The dispensary I do to, TFH (The Famous Healers) has been stocking a really great batch of it recently.
2. I smoke sativas almost exclusively and Lamb's Bread is like the sativa of sativas IMO (although I say this knowing that some of the Lamb's Bread out there is very much not top shelf; I'm just fortunate to get really good stuff)
3. The taste is amazing. Deeply earthy, almost like dirt. Every time I light up a new bowl, whether I'm alone or with friends, I literally say out loud, "Oh my god, that tastes so good."
4. It's a very clear headed, energetic high. I often end up cleaning when I smoke it...I hate the feeling of being tied to a couch that some strains give.
I had a great batch of Tangie a while ago, which was also really good, but I can't find a good batch of it now. Yesterday I emailed a grower in Orange County who won third place in sativas at the SoCal Cannabis Cup with his Tangie--hoping against hope that he might supply some of the dispensaries in Los Angeles, but I haven't heard back yet.
