Sanders and Mike both agreed that one of the most effective ways to put a stop to this particular form of structural racism is to make marijuana legal.
I think this is an issue that weve got to absolutely focus on, Sanders said. And its not just reforming police departments or doing away with minimum sentencing, but its also taking a hard look at the so-called war on drugs, which has destroyed many peoples lives.
The federal Controlled Substance Act says that marijuana is the same as heroin. What do you say about that? Sanders asked Mike.
Im a marijuana smoker and that is absolute bullsh*t, Mike responded.
Of course its crazy, Sanders said. Everybody knows its crazy.

Anyway, if Bernie got spokes people in other realms of the electorate as committed as KM, that would be awesome. He comes across with a lot of power and conviction and I love to see the two of them together. Talk about breaching age, race, and music divides...this is a good thing. Also, surely can't hurt his career either...publicity is free in this medium.

But he is attracting young people to the campaign, adding energy, introducing Bernie to an audience that hasn't heard of him before, and I'm grateful to him for his efforts. Heartfelt.
