Cannabis
Related: About this forumJust started smoking again in October.
I was totally stressed out from work and the prospect of losing my job. I was drinking too much.
Sent an urgent SOS to my 27 year old daughter, who I know smokes. Asked her to come over and bring marijuana. Mind you, I hadn't smoked since my 20's. I'm 57.
She came over, bless her heart, and kept asking if I really wanted to do this. I told her yes, I'm sure.
She got out a very nice little glass piece and we smoked a couple of bowls. We giggled and laughed and listened to music and had the best mom-daughter experience we have had in years! I felt relaxed for the first time in ages. She spent the night and left me a bowl and some weed.
I smoke several times a week now. My daughter and I usually have lunch and smoke every Sunday afternoon.
Cannabis should certainly be legal. It is much less dangerous than alcohol. I love it and support legalization everywhere.
I had to quit for 17 years because of employee drug testing. When I retired 3 years ago I picked up where I left off.
I love it.
It should be legal everywhere, IMO.

(68,328 posts)I advise all of my patients who use (and there are a lot of them here in Washington State) not to smoke it.
The bioavailability of THC in marijuana that is smoked is about 27%. The bioavailability of THC in edibles is about 9% from what I understand. So I'm sure smoking it gives you a better high. A study was published last year that concludes that marijuana smoke is not as bad for you as tobacco smoke. But you're still inhaling the by-products of combustion. i.e. carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc.
I hope you'll start using edibles instead.
Either way, enjoy!
I can't believe we spent so many years and so many billions of dollars keeping cannabis illegal, when the deadliest drugs known to man are nicotine and alcohol, and they're legal.
Still illegal here in MD and edibles are hard to get.
We need sane marijuana laws in this country.

Tinctures.
There's even an epidermal patch available.
All much less damaging to the throat and lungs.

(10,274 posts)With smoking the feedback to the dosage is immediate. Overdoing it with edibles, can for some, be unpleasant.

(9,666 posts)That's one of the only regrets that I have about not having any children. I feel sure they would have been able to keep their old man well-supplied with weed.
Peace, babe!
My daughter is stocked!
