(3,034 posts)710 is the recognized holiday for smoking potent cannibis oil products.
Just like 420, 710 is a stoner term used to celebrate dabs and cannabis concentrates on the 10th of July or 7/10. The number 710 spells OIL when placed backward and upside-down; Oil is a word used to describe potent cannabis concentrates like hash oil, honey oil, wax, shatter etc.

(116,809 posts)I've never used cannabis oil.
I'm still getting accustomed that the word "marijuana" is considered to be racist so I'm trying to use cannabis exclusively. I guess that I'm getting too old to be politically correct all of the time.

(24,107 posts)take to calm them down (2 of my 3 dogs get very disturbed with fireworks going on, thank god this time of year is over with). He said that there was a pill derivative or something like this for dogs to take that would calm them down. Would you happen to know of this? Thanks so much for any help, and also, thanks for the 710 tidbit of information...the things we learn on DU...great!
Take care...

(71,817 posts)it's available everywhere any more, at least where i am.
i assume an edible would work, but giving cannabis to animals is a little sketchy.

(24,107 posts)because of the fireworks (and my neighbor's dog too) had paw injuries, I am assuming from rushing about, to hide from the noise and such. I turned the TVs, radio, etc. up, but still. Thanks again.

(52,262 posts)She calls it Hemp oil and got it at the Farmer's Market. I got a bottle of pet CBD oil at my dispensary. You have to be careful and not give too much. I wish it was studied by vets so we would know more about it, the effects, dosage, etc. I use it when my older dog isn't feeling well with stiff joints, night time anxiety or when her digestive system is "off" and causing her discomfort. You start out with a little in a syringe thing (no needle) and slowly increase it over two weeks if you do it regularly. I had to do it for several weeks but now only occasionally. It helps! It is called My Best Bud and is 20:1 CBD:THC. (I want the medical benefits and not the stoney part).

(24,107 posts)they have Hemp Oil as well as the pet CBD oil there or at my local Pets Mart. If not here in STLMO, perhaps my friend in Illinois can get some for me. I'll go of course, as you recommend (a very good idea), with the lowest possible dose, and proceed very carefully. I did go out to the web and there are some articles on use of this on pets, but there weren't a ton of them and most of them basically said just watch the labeling etc. (makes sense, don't trust the contents depending on where the oil is from, etc.).
Take care and my 3 doggies and I thank you.

(52,262 posts)Be careful and do not give them "wax" which is thick and sticky. I gave my 7 lb dog a little (the size of a grain of rice) and it was way too much and not a good thing at all. The liquid oil is much better and it tells you how to increase the dosage over two weeks if you decide to use it daily. Good luck!

(52,262 posts)and asked if I get a discount. They told me that if I came in on my birthday I's get a free joint. Since it was the busy holiday I skipped it.
Happy Birthday!
