Cannabis
Related: About this forumCan someone explain the difference between RSO CBD and, well, regular CBD oil?
The place I'm now ordering from sent me a product email and RSO was one of the items listed. I did a little research, but the only thing I came away with is it's maybe just a different processing?
Anyway, I just placed an order so won't be placing another for a month, or so, but now I'm curious if it's something worth trying.

(2,593 posts)It uses the entire plant. Depending on the plant, it may have THC and CBD. Or could be CBD only with a trace of thc. CBD oil that is made with a solvent and reduced to only have the oil, uses only the flower, not the whole plant. So you need to ask them and you will know which one is best for you. Also, a lot of CBD oil is made from hemp, and contains little if any thc.
I know the CBD I'm using now is made from hemp. Anything else won't be available in Michigan until, probably next year.
Fortunately, what is available has helped a LOT with my anxiety. Just not so much with insomnia. Guess I'll have to wait for that. But I might order the RSO, next month, and give it a try.

(24,004 posts)looks like black tar and comes in a syringe. I inject a small amount in a capsule and take it at night for sleep. It works GREAT unless I take a little too much then I have insane dreams. This particular RSO has some THC in it. There are others that don't.
ETA: I've tried several brands of RSO and all of them have been good for sleep - at least for me. They've all had trace amounts of THC in them...I don't have a card for medical cannabis but am able to buy RSO over the counter.

RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) uses non-food grade solvents like naphtha and is controversial for that reason.
FECO (Full Extract Cannabis Oil) uses a food grade solvent like 190 proof alcohol and many believe it's much safer to consume than RSO.
CBD can be extracted using these techniques just like it is with THC dominate plants.
I personally infuse cannabis flowers into coconut oil but that's a different and less processed technique.
Some folks do full plant extraction.
Some folks just the flowers.
Avoid the CBD oil from commercial hemp. Too many good sources now to settle for that overpriced stuff.
Hemp Oil you find at the natural food stores isn't THC or CBD oil. It's a very nutritious edible oil made from pressing cannabis seeds I believe. It has no psychoactive affects.
Here are some links to friends of mine.
Good people.

(27,261 posts)I kind of got the impression that RSO was good as a topical. I just ordered some balm, but just a small tin, to try. The place I'm using gives me a veteran's discount AND has free 3 day shipping so I feel comfortable doing some 'experimentation'.
I'll be so glad when Michigan gets its collective legislative $hit together, and the shops can start opening so it's easier to buy something with a little more oomph.

(52,216 posts)the thick, dark stuff think g it would be like CBD oil. I was wrong. I gave her the amount the size of a grain of rice (she is 7 pounds) and she was so stoned I took her to the emergency room. CBD oil was perfect to calm her down just the right amount. RSO was overkill.

(3,376 posts)His original recipe calls for the most potent Indica Cannibus buds you can get. It makes you Really high. He recommends starting with a tiny amount, a dab on the end of a toothpick. Then working your way up too a hundred times that much or more. This is to resolve Cancers. It works!

(27,261 posts)I finally convinced her to get her card (this was before Michigan legalized) but she was reticent to use cannabis. That was so weird because, when we were younger, we were both 'experienced' users.

(52,216 posts)The size of rice and it was way too much and NOT at all like the CBD which is perfect for her and the measuement/dose is good for her size.
