There is an oil that’s used on the vaping solutions for liquid vaping. That oil is causing respiratory problems. This was according to an article on last Sunday’s NYT. While that oil might or might not be an ingredient in THC vaping solutions, there is no such oil when vaping cannabis flowers.

I'm hoping they determine it has only been that causing the problem. Then I'd know my Willies Reserve is still safe to use.

While it is the wild wild west in terms of regulation of concentration in any of these products, at least one can take steps to avoid contaminants in edibles and pretty much self-calibrate your "dose."

Why smoke/vape if you don't "have" to, given the uncertainties?

If it is a legal dispensary in Illinois that is law, you have to disclose all ingredients...

You can then determine if there are any harmful ingredients.

It is a stick on label which I remove and place on my vape pen...so that I know which product I am consuming, sativa or whatever...

The guy in Oregon could have altered his cartridge and added ingredients...

Many users are adding different oils and even nicotine...

I still remember the paraquat era. Do I still not trust the government. Yup. Now it may be paranoia, but I wouldn't put anything past the people currently in power. If you missed the '70's here is an article which speaks to what went on back then.

20. explanation:
Wed Sep 11, 2019, 08:30 PM
Sep 2019

there are different kinds of vaping.

1) if you are vaping the concentrates, oils, cartridges, .... that product is produced by mixing in other substances to bind with the THC or CBD. this can be vitamin E or a petroleum product like butane, or other unknown STUFF that isn't good for you. this applies to tobacco products too. so avoid the concentrates and the cartridges.

2) you can vape (vaporize) dry herb/flowers. this is totally different and actually WAY better for you than smoking. the material is the same stuff you've been putting in your pipe. you just put it in a "dry-herb vaporizer" and instead of lighting it on fire (and inhaling the fumes from your lighter) it just passes warm air over the material, which is good enough to capture the THC or CBD that you are after. there is no combustion and you avoid inhaling carcinogens that are produced when there is actual burning/combustion.

so my advice is to NOT VAPE CONCENTRATES that come in a cartridge. BAD SHIT!

but absolutely VAPE THE DRY HERB.

you need the proper tool for that. google "dry herb vaporizer" and you'll find lots of products and reviews and comparisons.

hope that helps
