Cannabis
Related: About this forumYea!!! The first recreational sales shop has opened in Genesee County, MI!!!
I've done some checking to make sure they have what I'm looking for, and will probably head there within the next week. I figure that will give things time to settle down since, so far, they are the ONLY area recreational shop open in the Flint area.
There are several good medical dispensaries closer to where I live. Hopefully they are going to expand to recreational sales, too. I think this whole expediting of the official sales date really caught a lot of people off guard. Honestly, this has been the most ham handed licensing process imaginable. The proposal passed in 2018!!!

(27,290 posts)I've gone from 2-4 hours to 5-6 hours. Not enough of an improvement but at least I'm not worried about any bad side effects. The more I read about the benefits of using CBD, the more I know I will probably be using it for the rest of my life. I'm lucky I get a really good veteran discount from the place I'm ordering the CBD products.
I have no interest in smoking cannabis but am not adverse to trying vaping. A friend recommended getting an Indica based tincture/oil or maybe some gummies to use just before bed.

(14,664 posts)I don't like smoking it either, but the gummies are very helpful.

(17,440 posts)CBD is federally legal now. Just about every stste allows it to be sold without restriction. Some still have restrictions on hemp, but that's because it's hard to tell from the thc producing plants visually.
What state does it have to be sneaked into?

(9,200 posts)somehow, at best; and implies a pejorative context in my opinion. I've used Cannabis for nearly 60 years and I've rarely seen anyone using it to "recreate". Most often, like alcohol, it is applied as a social lubricant. In non-social settings I think people use it to facilitate creative expression, acquire spiritual insight and improve mental health. I think the term "recreational use" has been applied as a label by those who have never used it.

(27,290 posts)I have no interest in getting stoned and partying. Been there, done that. It was fun. Now all I want is something to help me relax and sleep, that won't also come with potential, horrible side effects. Something to help me relax when tension rages out of my shoulder muscles, triggering horrible headaches. I'm not interested in smoking. I'm interested in oils, tinctures and edibles.
I've been using CBD since April, and my anxiety and panic attacks have stopped. It's just not quite sufficient to help me get much more than 5 or 6 hours of sleep.

(17,440 posts)The term isn't pejorative. It was adopted to distinguish the market from medical / prescription use.
It's a widely used term by consumers and the industry. I don't have a problem with it. It's much better than some of the negative terms out there.
Plus its descriptive. People use it for the sheer joy they get from it.

It's a bit of a drive, but not bad. Especially in the Summer! Last time I was there was a couple of years ago, when the Tall Ships came in. Spectacular. Didn't make it, this year.
