Cannabis
Related: About this forumForty years an outlaw, today I bought legal weed!
Supplies are limited here in Illinois, as it Cannabis was just legalized on January 1st. There have been lines as long as 4-5 hours and lots of products sold out.
Today I drove up and 20-minutes later drove off with 1g of Cresco Rocket Fuel (28.95% THC) and 20 gummies 50/50 CBD/THC.
Ideally, I would have bought 1/4oz or 1/8oz, but they've been rationing so nobody gets shut out.
My wife, who has never touched the stuff, is on board to try out the gummies this weekend.
I'm just about to light up my first bowl of the stuff, which smell so much better than the Midwest barn-weed that's oh-so common.
Sorry to geek out, but this is a big deal for a lot of Illinoisans, particularly those who are having convictions expunged.
This never would have happened under our former Repug Governor!

(3,294 posts)As I'm getting older, it's harder to find a "street" connection, and it's pretty great to just walk into a store and SHOP for weed and edibles, LOL. The hard-to-open packaging sucks hard, tho.

(52,208 posts)Now I have the clerks open them for me before I leave and sometimes they can't even get them open. I buy vape cartridges and each container is different. I could not open "brass knuckles" so I whacked it with a hammer in the side. Well, it hit the case, flew against the wall, opened and broke the gooey cartridge...yuk! I took it all back to the dispensary and they replaced it for free since I am a regular customer. This Jan. 1st CA taxes increased (state, county and city) 20% making the total tax now 50%!!!!! People are going back to buying it on the street since they can't afford the taxes. I wish I had my old connections!

(18,281 posts)..our shops cant open any packages for us ( believe me I asked!) so when I managed to open one (without stabbing it) I took the packaging to the store so they could have a model to show people how to open it.
Actually I wonder if those packages need to be ADA compliant. I mean I have my med card for arthritis so the packaging is actually preventing me from easily getting my meds. Even pills have child proof caps that can turned over and disabled for us adults.

(52,208 posts)and have to ask for assistance from other staffers. They all agree that it isn't necessary. After going through 30+ min of trying to get one open I REALLY need the calming effects....maybe that is the trick, they sell more that way.

(36,328 posts)We live in northern California and Arizona, so we've been legal for years now (with medical cards prior to recreational legalization and reciprocity in AZ). Never thought I'd see it in my lifetime. Sometimes things work out like they should.
