(4,879 posts)In 1964 our LPs didn't come with visuals (accept what was in our own heads). LOL

(84,711 posts)I have good speakers on my PC so the YT irect sounds great. But even the listen from here does show the power of this version.

(84,711 posts)this new version shouts up to our time and what we haven't learned since Simon & Garfunkle in that time of the 60's when there was hope on the streets. Now we know what has slipped away despite all the best efforts of those who've pushed for change through the decades and the powerful ending to this new version by the group "Disturbed" really goes to the gut of what we are faced with. ANGST!
Anyway...not to rant but I sort of thought the progression of SOS was interesting from the late sixties to now. And, the Bernie captures are so fitting for this time.
There have been a great many powerful Bernie vids and this is right up there with the best of them.

Mass media = weapons of mass deception.
So true. And not only in this primary. Never forget the media's role in the run up to the Iraq War. In disqualifying Howard Dean (although I never had a brief for Dean). In the Plame Affair. Never forget any of it.
Example: One of the most honored, supposedly objective journalists in America "was posthumously revealed as a 30-year source for syndicated columnist Robert Novak."

We deserve so much better than the crap pack we refer to as "mass media."

(46,179 posts)several months ago, without the Bernie visuals or connection, and found it to be incredibly powerful even without them.
For the record, I am a life-long fan of Simon and Garfunkel, I grew up loving them in the 60s and 70s, and this is my favorite of their songs. It is very, very rare that I would appreciate a cover of a master's song, but this one...I do.
Adding the Sanders visuals makes it even more powerful, and I feel my gut clenching as I watch.
