BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders took a jab at President Donald Trump’s recent vulgar language during a weekend event honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King.

The independent senator said that, “unlike Trump,” the late civil rights leader didn’t denigrate people from other countries and cultures, and looked forward to a day ‘when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but on the content of their character.'”

Sanders spoke Sunday at The Greater Burlington Multicultural Resource Center.
