Sen. Sanders: Six Republican Senators Just Voted to Reopen the Government

We are now on day 34 of Trump's government shutdown, and many hundreds of thousands of federal employees are hurting badly. These workers are now finding it hard to feed their families, and are flocking to emergency food shelves. They're worried about being able to pay their mortgages or how they're going to go to the doctor when they get sick.

But here is some good news. Today, for the first time, six Republicans in the Senate—Senators Alexander, Collins, Gardner, Isakson, Murkowski and Romney—stood up to Trump and voted with Democrats to end the shut down without spending billions for an unneeded a wall.
