for the Sanders Group.

(5,424 posts)more gossipy. I sometimes post something I think might be interesting like one I did recently about the great new Dems added to the Oversight Committee like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ro Khanna, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib only to find no one really cared about talking about it. Sunk like a stone.
As far as responding to OPs, I trash a lot of threads. Sometimes I might post an opinion on something not Clinton or Sanders related, particularly if its about healthcare policy since thats my button for sure. But my progressive leanings dont seem to be in sync with many of the posters left so I usually delete my thoughts before posting them.

(46,018 posts)Some events gain no traction or are discussed very little. I use trash thread a lot.

(2,526 posts)I will have DU open in two different browsers. I will be reading in the one I'm not signed into. When the urge to respond overwhelms me I go to the other browser to look for the thread and post that riled me. I usually can't find the post because it is someone I have blocked long ago. Keeps me out of trouble.

(2,872 posts)DU has become meet central for the #neverbernie crowd - that much is evident.. more like "alt-center underground"
Just check out all the vitriol aimed at AOC - they're not even being covert about it anymore..
Autumn
(46,018 posts)reckoned with.

(2,872 posts)even slight Bernie supporters left after 2020 primary around here..
AOC is an obvious target - if/when Bernie runs & she back him, cause she will... that will be the end for me around here, cause I will jump into any thread shitting on her - it is my duty as a Boricua

(29,509 posts)I took many months off posting (not reading/reccing/alerting, though) out of sheer disgust with a few incessant loudmouths. The pointlessness of those vacuous, meaningless echo chambers trying to couch themselves as discussions...
During that time, aging hit my parents really hard and my dad ended up passing away, now Im caring for my mom. This has put the vacuous mean-spiritedness in even more stark relief. I rarely if ever even open those threads now. But Im solidly here, just not there.

Bernie and the movement he inspired give me continued hope for the world.

(4,387 posts)...the Bernie Hate Brigade doesn't like being called out for the bullshit and there are too many of them that all post in the same threads together. Their victim complex is equal parts annoying and infuriating. I don't block anyone so I see all of it and just sigh.

(2,872 posts)just so I can see how bad it really has become.. I am sure my disgust level will only increase... but then they can see me & report, which tended to go down when I started blocking.. it's a tough call
twitter has become my savior, no rules & regs (for the most part).. and unlike FB I don't mix friends/family into it so I can really let lose without offending anyone, not that I am one of those over the tops offenders or anything
I tuned out from FB in 2016.. one particular "friend" became abhorrent.. I've learned low info voters are the worst ppl to get into it with..

(46,179 posts)let alone post. What would be the point? The goal of those that have helped evolve this site into Democratic Above-Ground Establishment Centrists is not to advance any issues, but to make sure the progressives in their own party are ridiculed, demeaned, shouted down, and silenced. Who has time for that?
I wondered if any actual progressives are still here, so I checked in the Sanders group; if any are left, I figured this would be the place to find them.

(12,205 posts)And I havent blocked anything because I want to see what is really going on.
That said I dont argue here. Some people are looking for an excuse to pounce.
I have been here since 2004 and it has changed a lot. In the beginning we were unified to get Bush out. We need to get back to that place to stop Trump.
I am not sure after watching the last election this blog can unify.
I am leaning towards Kamala this time although I still love Bernie a lot.
