Democratic Presidential Candidate Martin O’Malley Visits 30th Iowa County.
DAVENPORT, Iowa Democratic presidential candidate Martin OMalley, who has visited Iowa more than any other candidate, spent time in the Quad Cities on Sunday.
OMalleys visit to Scott County marks the 30th Iowa County that he has visited during election season, and he says he plans on visiting as many of the states 99 counties as possible.
He says a lesser-known candidate usually emerges as a leader after the Iowa caucuses, and he intends on capturing that position.
When I first got into this race, I knew that I was a new name, OMalley said Sunday. But over the past 70 days, weve gone from 1 percent to 3 percent to 7 percent. And a successful campaign in Iowa is one thats waged town to town, living room to living room, and thats the kind of campaign were running.
Earlier on Sunday during his visit to Davenport, OMalley outlined his economic plan, which includes raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour across the nation.
