Presidential hopeful Martin O'Malley said rival Democrat Hillary Clinton's use of private email as former Secretary of State is jeopardizing their party's chance of victory in 2016. . .
O'Malley said Democrats should be focusing on serious issues. "For my part," he told reporters, "I want us to be talking as a party about how we get wages to go up again, rather than down, how we guarantee every child in America a fair shot at a better future, how we make college more affordable, how we move America forward to a 100 percent clean electric grid."
He continued, "These are the issues we need to be talking about as a party, and until we start having debates, our party is going to be defined and branded by questions like: What did Secretary Clinton know? When did she know it? And when will the FBI conclude its investigation? That's not a formula for success in the fall."

(6,409 posts)I hope he's not saying it's Clinton's fault she's the subject of a bogus "investigation." I think his point about the debates is well taken. Let's have some. It will get the focus off Clinton's troubles, and onto the issues.

(2,798 posts)Having debates early and often would shift the focus to real issues. It would give Clinton and everyone else the chance to end all the media noise and bogus distractions.
The DNC should realize that democratic debates are real opportunities to attack republican talking points. All of our candidates really agree more than they disagree, especially when it comes to keeping the clowns out of the white house.
It is important to distinguish O'Malley's own words from the "interpretation" of the reporter.
