O'Malley begins 4-day swing in Des Moines.

After taking a few days off for Christmas, presidential candidates are back on the campaign trail.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley was in Des Moines Sunday, speaking at a Foreign Police Leadership Forum at the Des Moines Social Club.

About 100 people came to hear him, as he focused on foreign policy and moving forward as a country.

“It’s not about the differences,” O’Malley said. “It’s not about what separates us. It’s about what unites us about the hope. It’s about the connections, and that’s particularly true when it comes to discussing the path our country will take in the years ahead.”

O’Malley will be in Iowa until Dec. 30.

Monday morning he will be at a forum in Webster City.
