Martin O'Malley
Related: About this forumO'Malley scores big with debate-night tweet.
Martin OMalley may be out of the race, but the Twitterverse hasnt given up on him yet.
The former Maryland governor made it into the top 10 most retweeted messages during Thursday's Democratic debate, according to a list released by Twitter on Friday.
OMalleys tweet calling on Hillary Clinton to release her Wall Street speech transcripts made it to No. 6 on the list.
Said this in 2012 about @MittRomney's tax returns, I'll say it today: @HillaryClinton should release the Wall Street transcripts #DemDebate, OMalley tweeted.
It was retweeted 3,750 times and liked 6,424 times as of Friday afternoon. The message came in response to a heated exchange between Clinton and Bernie Sanders over her refusal to release the transcripts from her paid Wall Street speeches. The secretary of state has said that if everyone releases their transcripts, including Republicans, she'll think about releasing her own.
The big Twitter winner of the debate night, however, was Sanders. A tweet from the Vermont senator just before the debate kicked off that said Public colleges and universities tuition free? Damn right got 6,326 retweets and 11,901 likes.

(456 posts)Democrats on the LEFT like transparency. Sanders and O'Malley agree on that. H. Clinton on the other is more in tune with republicans. Those of us on the LEFT tend to tell it like it is, even if sometimes missing adjectives and paid proof readers.

(15,139 posts)For whatever reason, Hillary doesn't want anyone to see the content of those speeches. If she thinks Bernie and reporters are giving her a hard time about it, wait until she's the nominee and the R's get started on it. Just more fuel for the fire.

(9,455 posts)They all accept money from Wall St.
If anything is damning it better come out before the nomination is decided.
No way I'm voting for a Republican even knowing this info.

Paul Ryan will be, and I don't believe he'll mention it.
House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wis. pauses while speaking to reporters at the Republican National Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, ruling himself out of the Republican presidential race once and for all.
By ERICA WERNER and ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) House Speaker Paul Ryan's national stature is such that he had to call a news conference to deny he wants to be president. Back on Capitol Hill, he's about to blow through a statutory deadline to pass an annual budget, a major embarrassment for him and House Republicans.
Under the government's arcane budget law, the House is supposed to produce a budget by this Friday, April 15. But a tea party revolt over Ryan's embrace of last year's bipartisan deal with President Barack Obama to increase spending has left him well short of the votes he needs.
"It would appear that we're not going to have a budget," the No. 2 House Democrat, Steny Hoyer of Maryland, told reporters Tuesday. "They made it a big deal. Hypocrisy is part of it," he added. "They're in deep disarray."

(15,139 posts)But when have Republicans ever had a problem being hypocrites? They'll have no problem excoriating Hillary for doing the same things they do.

(9,866 posts)come back as a candidate in 2020 if Bernie is not running again.
His campaign never really got off the ground, but next time it might. He is a likable candidate.

(3,111 posts)some of our candidates, which to me would be Hillary Clinton. If she's so insistent that she's not in the bag for big money, she should release the transcripts. She never will, because that would be like a Romney's devastating "47%" comments.
You know that's true, even her supporters.
How can you vote for her anyway?
OldArtilleryMan
(7 posts)her speech transcripts when everyone else does, just whom is she talking about. Who has made speeches to the groups that she spoke too? How many of them are running for president?

(1,217 posts)and Kasich likely has never made speeches to Wall Street. So in truth, probably no one in the running has profited from the speech circuit.....It's All BS on her part as the artful dodge.
Welcome to the party!

(13,297 posts)O'Malley is right, but she'll never do it. She's afraid of the truth getting out. Plain and simple. I bet her comments would put Romney's 47% remark to shame.
