Reporting San Diego Exclusive
Dec 9, 2015 (EL CAJON) George Ibarra, President of the East County Coalition, addressed the council for many of the people who came to the meeting. We are here to address the uninhabitable living conditions that exists, and seem to be endemic and suffered by many tenants here in El Cajon.
30 people came to the city council evening session. Many of them were from the apartments at 1050 Lexington. Many of the residents in that apartment complex lost everything they had, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. They also were affected by mold, rats, bed bugs, cockroaches.
He did remind the Council that the California Civil code 1941.1 guarantees a minimum of conditions that have to be met, regardless of race, color, creed, or national origin. We are linking to the full code here.
Ibarra told them that as public servants of this great city its your duty and responsibility to ensure and uphold the provisions of California Civil Code 1941.1. Ibarra then went and detailed some of the issues at hand. In particular as it entails the Courtyard Villas at 1050 East Lexington in El Cajon.

Yeah, yeah, xposted this in GD, but I expect it to sink. Poverty issues and civil rights are not a thing. We cover them because it matters.
