Guam senators pass bills for Simon Sanchez repairs, medical marijuana and electronic signs

Guam – The legislature cleared its voting file this afternoon.

Among the bills passed was the controversial bill 87 which transfers $430,000 from the capitol district fund to the Guam Department of Education to fund repairs for Simon Sanchez High School for the next two school years while a new educational facility is constructed.

The bill passed with a vote of 9 to 6 with Senators Tom Ada, Jim Espaldon, Therese Terlaje, Mary Torres, Regine Lee, and Telena Nelson voting no.

They also passed bill 94 which appropriates savings realized from cutting senators’ salaries to GDOE for the repair of Simon Sanchez High School. Only Senators Frank Aguon, Rodriguez, and Joe San Agustin voted no.
