Michigan officials confirmed that a woman accidentally drove her car into a polling station in Coloma Township, west of Kalamazoo.
There were no injuries, Jake Rollow, spokesman for Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, wrote in an email to reporters. Local police and pollworkers did an excellent job securing the area and re-opening the polling place.
The incident took place around midday at the Coloma township hall, according to local news reports, which said voting stopped for less than an hour. Coloma Township is located in Berrien County.
The driver said she needed to go speak with her insurance company, and then would return to vote, Rollow wrote in the email.

(17,001 posts)if she drove down to the insurance office. I can just see her driving down the street with insulation hanging from the windshield wipers. Seems like she could have simply called them and then voted. It was probably all quite a shock, however.
