It really doesn't have anything to do with relative importance. He skipped rallies in other states to focus on Michigan because it was key to any comeback.

the bell done rung.

He won washington in 16 by a lot. It's not a caucus anymore though, but he didn't put any currency on it. He put all of his chips on michigan.

Has never been a factor in presidential elections. We have always been so late in the electoral process nobody ever paid attention.

Washington is one of the top States in the Nation!!!!

Unfortunately it is on the West Coast which tends to minimize its impact.
