The news is saying we should all be scared of disgruntled Bernie supporters

that won’t vote for Biden and OMG the Democratic Party is split.

I am sorry, but I don’t like being held hostage in this way.

If someone is going to vote for Trumpass in any manner, whether it be third party, staying home or actually be voting for the cretin in chief they can just fucking go to hell.

Get on board or go away. We can and will do it without them.

And I am not speaking of any DUers. I am speaking to the general news spin regarding this.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I've been reading r/politics since SC primary. Some of what they say about other candidates besides Bernie is toxic and most of the time, out of line and wrong. It is upon us to correct them and make sure the twisted narratives are challenged and corrected. I don't think we will ever get all of them around, but we need to help get as many as possible. Some of them are just in that bubble for too long to know the truth.

They are fewer, or not voting, or have jobs, and they hate Trump too. In 2016 they didn't hate Trump. Their focus was elsewhere.

So we have opportunity to being a significant portion of them along on the bandwagon. Beating Trump will be attractive to most of them. Motivating them to vote ... that's another matter, but ... we have time.

Spent many months maybe years going door to door and calling for your candidate, going to rallies, signing people up to vote for them? Wearing a shirt with their name on it for over a year?
Begging everyone you know to vote for them?

I have, emotions are very much in play and it is a time to grieve, its a loss of a relationship in their life.

Tue Mar 10, 2020, 09:33 PM
Mar 2020

1.) A small minority of Bernie supporters who, unlike the majority of his supporters, will continue to sow division about the eventual nominee, perhaps voting for a third party or failing to vote; and

2.) A small minority of non-Bernie supporters who, unlike the majority, will continue to shit on Sanders and his supporters.

Both have the effect of diminishing general enthusiasm and our chances. Both are small minorities, I believe, but both are vocal.

But I agree with you on the disgruntled Bernie supporters. Anyone not committed to voting for the nominee can, as you say, get on board or go away. If one can't clearly see the differences between Trump and Biden or the stakes in the election, then it's pretty hard to take them seriously in any way whatsoever.

has to focus on voter's needs and the Democratic party's strong record of delivering progress. We cannot fall again into the trap of attempting to satisfy the collective ego of any one personality-driven constituency. Those voters who are fixed like lasers on a single personality will never acquiesce to the most reasonable alternative, for with them there is no such thing.

Their messiah was rejected by voters - that is how democracy works.

If that miffs you and you don't want to vote for Biden then you're voting for

Babies in cages
Parents separated from their children
Destruction of our national interest vested in our allies
Incompetence in a crisis
Arbitrary bans on people who are in disfavor of the orange clown
Racists and Neo Nazis walking the streets with swastikas and torches
A degeneration of society
Millions losing health care
and ... worsening income inequality which was Sanders' main pet peeve.

Fuck you if you want to support that because your wee feelings are hurt.
