(2,412 posts)That doesnt sound real to me. I support Sanders and will vote blue no matter who in the general so will most people I know. This sound like some bait to cause a divisive reaction perhaps? We need to come together to beat Trump.

(7,019 posts)"The National Emerson College Poll of 1,128 registered voters between January 21 and January 23 found that 53 percent of Sanders supporters said "yes" when asked if they would support the Democratic nominee even if it is not their candidate.
Another 31 percent of Sanders supporters said it depends on who the nominee is and 16 percent flat-out said no. "

(5,948 posts)Bernie is more anti-Trump than any other candidate and it would be more than there were in 2016 who just didn't show up for Hillary. Of all of the constituencies in the Democratic party, a Trump victory sets back progressives more than anyone else. They would be ignorant and stupid to go from Bernie to Trump. That sounds like either Republican or Russian propaganda, maybe both. Not much of a difference between them.

(7,019 posts)The article states that "53% OF BERNIE SANDERS VOTERS WILL DEFINITELY SUPPORT 2020 DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE IF HE DOESN'T WIN: POLL" as the headline..
Only 16% said they would not under any circumstances.

(1,089 posts)that poll was conducted before the very first primary/caucus. Of course that number (16%) would naturally be somewhat high before a single vote was cast.
It'll drop downward as the picture starts to clear...which it rapidly seems to be doing.

(7,019 posts)There will be a few holdouts, of course, nut the vast majority of Sanders supporters are our allies and we all agree with each other in the bigger picture. Lots of fights down in the weeds, but reality is, we are far closer to each other than the current invader of the Oval Office

(19,612 posts)So far, a lot of the people who said they were his supporters didn't show up in the primaries. They just lied. It happens.
Democratic supporters have been voting in a much larger number than Democrats did in 2016. We're dong fine right now.

(6,308 posts)Let's stop questioning the commitment of Sanders supporters to ending the orange menace. This only feeds their bogus "the establishment hates us" narrative.
Let's focus instead on the existential threat to our country's future. Attention needs to be on that and not hurt feelings from the primary.
