Q: When should Bernie Sanders concede and suspend his campaign and give a full-throated endorsement of Joe Biden?
I recommend: TODAY.

(25,566 posts)I think what we saw yesterday were Dems saying they want this primary season over, and they want Joe to be the nominee.
Bernie's moved the conversation further left than anyone could have, and for that, I'm grateful. But, it's time to coalesce behind Joe.
Shit's been getting real since the beginning of the year. We (Sanders and Biden supporters) need to focus on ridding the country of Trumpism and we can't do that as long as we're posting snake emojis on Twitter.

I voted early. My candidate dropped out before my vote was counted. Just the way it goes.

(4,772 posts)Biden has 846, he needs 1991.
Bernie should stay in till the end, and the end is 1991.
No "bros" were telling biden to drop out after the first batch of primaries.
He is only winning mostly red states, which scares me.
Super Tuesday for Joe was mostly red states. I do not think states that vote R should be deciding our candidates.

(24,149 posts)That is what this has devolved to, have you seen Sanders lying, deceptively edited ad about Biden that was running non-stop prior to yesterday?

(10,487 posts)Biden would be expending more resources on the primary rather than getting everyone focused for the general and continuing to take hits from Sanders when the primary is effectively over.
Show the class what the path to winning the nomination is for Bernie.
I can save you a bunch of time: there isn't one beyond an extraordinary long shot.
Therefore, we should now be focusing our energy and resources on getting the criminal out of the White House.

When he does, he needs to give the speech of his life and convince his followers to NOT sit home in November (like so many of his supporters did during the primaries, apparently).

(22,651 posts)exploit and spam tweets about 'perceived' health issues is a republican tactic that's very divisive
This same attack tactic will be used if Biden wins the primary. I'm positive if Biden wins the primary his campaign will release medical records to put that health issue to rest.

What twisted logic are they using to justify their actions?

(22,651 posts)so Sanders can release his delegates using Americas democratic process for elections.
A suspension of campaign has a much different process and November is a long way away. America clearly needs more than one person to go through the entire primary process 'god forbid!, just in case'.

(25,566 posts)There's no path to the nomination short of Biden dropping out (that's clearly not happening).
I've very grateful Sanders pulled the conversation left - we're talking about M2A and reduced college tuition because of him.
But, if the numbers aren't there, all his continuation does is divide the party.

(22,651 posts)as well as the Biden campaign. I love Clinton and Biden but donated/donate only to Sanders campaign (Yang/Warren also when they were still in)
I vote for the D party in the GE. but I depend on Sanders(and Yang & Warren) to make what small progressive changes he can while both campaigns are still open to hear the D party voters most progressive issues.

(42,862 posts)How do you feel about his top campaign advisors continued efforts to kneecap and hobble Biden by spreading and retweeting the lies that he has dementia (or Alzheimer's disease)? Is that worth your donation?
What good purpose does it serve for his top campaign staff to spread and repeat rightwing talking points... and doing Trump's work FOR the Republicans and Russia? Why would they want to do anything to convince the American people to NOT vote for Biden?
How exactly does that benefit the "most progressive issues" that you believe to be important?
Please respond.

(22,651 posts)Even though almost all the candidates still standing are older people they'll probably all last at least another 4-5 years. They all have terrific top tier medical care, Trump alone has 13 specialists for his yearly checkup. I'm positive Joe Bidens campaign will put those ugly twitter attacks to rest soon before republican party spams them if Biden wins the primary.
Biden doesn't have dementia, Sanders isn't going to drop dead from a heart attack..ignore the tweets they're IMO a total distraction from the real issues at hand that effect most Americans.
to answer your please respond while I will ignore the 'tweets divisive distraction'-
I think the income inequity issue is the most major problem in America followed by Americas 'for profit' health care industry. We need progressive change, much faster progressive change. To go back to normal (while a relief from republicans damn president) isn't enough change for many Americans who are crushed in debt, living for to many years! paycheck to paycheck.

(42,862 posts)Doesn't matter if Sanders himself personally said it... he's not stopping his staff from doing so. And by remaining that is already been decided, and by not speaking out against his "rogue" staff, Bernie is actually showing his "silent approval" of these types of scorched-earth tactics.
Keep in mind that I'm not talking about random-anonymous "bro's" or other bots and trolls on twitter and facebook... I'm talking about HIS FUCKING STAFF. Why is that okay with you?

(22,651 posts)they aren't part of his party. He even fired one campaign person. No one can control twitter spamming.
I'm sorry to see you're so upset over some tweets to start swearing. Please quit twitter perching- you will feel so much better. Twitter will go crazy during GE, twitter is not relevant to reality.
