Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumMy prediction is that scared and weary voters will propel Biden across the primary
finish line, and then the GE one. The only way the current misadmin can win now is by cheating.

(28,361 posts)I think they're motivated to vote for Democrats, just like in 2018, and dump Trump.
2018 was a referendum on Trump and the issues Democrats were focusing on - health care at the forefront. 2020 is looking to be similar.

(32,017 posts)I am not worried about it at all and look forward to voting for Joe in November.
But the Democratic primaries? Theyre over (for better or for worse), and I am on record saying that I think that Daffy Duck could beat Trump in the GE this year.

(7,735 posts)No, Biden was not the bright star until the big shift of religious moderate black voters and moderate white older people went to the polls. That is what changed this. Older people vote and many older people are moderates, so the party stays moderate.

(70,915 posts)When Biden arrived in democratic sort of states...he lost and badly...he never had more than 30% of any vote and the young voters stayed home. He has lost. There are more moderates/progressives than leftists.

(7,735 posts)I did not know there was such a thing as a moderate/progressive. Is that a thing?
And how is a moderate/progressive different from "leftists"?
I am very confused.

(28,361 posts)Just black voters. You don't need the qualifiers. In fact, they make your assertion sound dismissive and misinformed.
Black voters, in general, voted overwhelmingly for Biden.
"moderate white older people"
Same problem. It's not just "moderate white older people". It's college-educated women. It's working-class voters in Michigan and other states. It's surburban Democrats. It's left-leaning independents. It's the majority of pretty much every demographic group outside of young, white men, and even they're not showing up for Sanders in the numbers Sanders asserts.
The dismissiveness shown in your assertions is part of the problem and indicative of why Sanders isn't doing better and why it would be a horrible strategy for November. Write off groups you don't like, you lose.
