(27,024 posts)the Senate should he accept.
Plus choosing him puts more of a focus on Kentucky which might help defeat Moscow Mitch as the people of Kentucky deserve a Senator that refuses to be Putin's bitch.

Biden's one mis-step was the Crime Bill, and only because it didn't have explicit wording about sentencing and duration of sentencing.
Biden has written or strongly influenced some enduring progressive legistlation like the Violence against Women Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

(51,469 posts)In the current Senate, the longest-serving member is Patrick Leahy, a Democrat (elected in 1974). Then come Orrin Hatch (elected in 1976), Thad Cochran (elected in 1978), and Chuck Grassley (elected in 1980) before you get to Mitch McConnell (elected in 1984).

(5,969 posts)If you really care about your plans besides talking about it, you try to find allies and persuade those who could help you. On the other side of that story, it's a positive if you are open to the opinions of others and if you are able to adjust your policies after assessing the facts. Compromise and open-mindedness lead to progress.
In contrast to that, stomping your feet on the ground and not willing to move one inch because you are oh so "principled", will only end with you going home having achieved nothing.

(8,147 posts)role Bernie plays depends on whether or not he continues to be seen as a spoiler.
I am sure Bernie will bring up any and all of Bidens past record that he sees as draconian, as will
Biden bring up Bernies pro NRA stances, lack o& legislative accomplishment, and I hope, pro-Russia votes.
