I went to gym today. - reporting as ordered

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by GP6971 (a host of the Democratic Primaries forum).

It was a YMCA in a more rural area. It was not crowded but a decent crowd. The staff were wiping down continually and I wiped before and after workouts. I kept plenty of distance from others and got a good session in. I'm working from home next two weeks, avoiding most social functions and that alone, will probably be the death of me.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

My gym is part of the hospital system for which I work (yay for payroll deduction for gym membership!) and the facility I use is actually connected to an old hospital building that has various uses. They have upped the cleaning staff and are doing more rounds, they reinforced hand washing and cleaning the equipment before and after use. There are little wooden shelves with cleaner bottles and rags all over. That I know of, you are never more than about 5 or 6 feet from disinfectant cleaner. There have been fewer people coming in the last week, but I've yet to see anyone who wasn't wiping down that equipment like it was a ritual.

about $140 total. I'm 59, so I'm not lifting heavy to try and get big. I go for a half-hour walk and then another half hour resistance training. I used to scoff at the home gym equipment, thinking I needed to use a real gym. I realized I liked the walk around the reasonably nice residential area I live in. Plus I save the time it takes to get to the gym.

Can't afford to build one in the backyard, so I belong to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center at the University of Iowa. They're closing indefinitely after tomorrow. So it's the stationary bike and resistance bands for my home workout. I'm 58, BTW.

Be well.

I use too many different machine, and lift weights, so I'm probably getting other people's germs all over me (and getting mine on them).

Just going to go out walking at night instead. My neighborhood is usually ghost town after dark.

I don't go to the gym but I took the bus to Costco last night and it was a trip.

The bus driver was spraying after he touched anything other than the wheel. Workers at Costco wiped down the handles of the carts.. and I whipped out my bottle of hand sanitizer about 3 times.

A lot of the shelves were empty and people were buying like there was no tomorrow.. it's a jungle out there.

Best of Luck to everybody!
